Exactly what I was looking for! Adventure with barely any angst or childhood trauma. Just pure fun and silliness! I feel refreshed ✨✨
This book has several qualities that make it perfect for my learning style: it is short, concise, and full of good examples. Case in point, I have learned how to use a colon in a sentence.
A cute Christmas romcom. Definitely agree with their choice of best Christmas Carol movie, 100%.
This was a wildly hyper, fun, Loud, happy book. The MC is super excited the whole time.
I think I'm too asexual to appreciate the pacing in the first 1/4th of the book. Also had to suspend logic a bit. But I have no problem reading books that require suspended logic.
It felt like it would have made more sense as a musical then a book tbh.
I felt somewhat feeling emotionally disconnected from the story. So it took me significantly longer to read this one.
A much faster read than the first book, despite the additional length. It gave me “the thrill” book reader version 😆, meaning I stayed up too late reading for several nights.
Everyone in this book is a well written hot mess. The characters felt real. I really want to see fanart of Sol's homecoming outfit.
A fun historical romance. Lots of glancing at each other and tension which is my favorite part of historicals. Slow burn, which is my favorite type of romance.
The overall plot doesn't wrap up since this is going to be a series but the character story wraps up nicely so who cares what those other side characters were up to.
I haven't read a Fae fantasy in a while. I loved the world building. This was great and I can't wait for the sequel. Also I'm envious of Emyr's horns. The last paragraph was a really great end to the book!
edit: I bought some fake ram horns
MC is 16, pampered, sheltered, and from a relatively wealthy family so... the character is expectedly pretty emotionally immature. He's an a**hole to the people who care about him. There was some character development and I'm sure he's on the road toward emotional depth and empathy in his 20's but the book is not that long...
Devin is precious and I wish eir story line had started sooner. E's the only reason I finished tbh. I relate.
So good!! The ending was a little sudden but it still felt right. A good coming of age, slice of life. This one is going in my re-read list because I want to experience it again. I could almost taste Sam's desserts
