A bit of a difficult read at times, I found, the writing being much mire focused than I was expecting on pure geology and fossils, but beyond that, some really fascinating stuff and a very clear and thought-provoking light shed on many aspects of evolution.
For curious people like myself who revel in understanding things, why things are the way they are, it's a real treat.
You know a book was good when you can clearly remember it months or years down the line, and still recommend it to people...
Only awarded four stars because as an avid listener of the podcast the content wasn't as new as I might have been expecting, but beyond that, truly revolutionary and a must-read.
Movement ecology is the way forwards, the most commonest of common senses... Why is KB the only one to point it out?
I would really have liked to put 5 stars for the content but the form forces me to dock one star off.
I agree wholeheartedly with the other person here who commented “life changing”; I think this book contains one of the most important perspectives voiced today, bar none. But it is presented in an extremely dense academic way which makes it both hard to follow if you actually can and inaccessible to most. This frustrates even more because it should so be in all hands.
A very beautiful and seriously inspiring and thought-provoking read... Like others have said, a fascinating east-west exploration, very well laid out, and a dense content but which was so interesting it prompted me to take notes as I went along and not hesitate to dip back a few times over and reread certain passages before moving on. Well worth it, because as clarity seeps through, your eyes and mind open up, big style...
