A Touch of Darkness

This was actually much better than I thought it would be, I was really reluctant to start it even with all the hype around it because I usually have a dislike of story retellings, it almost always strikes me as trite and generally off putting, and whilst I wouldn't say this was a partially original telling of the tale of Hades and Persephone, it was a good time.

The character names could've been replaced with any other names and it would've felt like a off-the-shelf urban paranormal romance (which I occasionally enjoy). I listened to it as an audiobook and it went by fast, even though it was 10hrs.

So, overall I am pleasantly surprised, it didn't feel too much like a fan fic, and it was an enjoyable read if you already like urban paranormal romance as a genre.
