Go on an adventure through a crazy tale. This is a bit of high fantasy mixed with absurdism and mystery. You never know what's going to happen.
This was recommended to me by a coworker who had really enjoyed reading it to her young sons, and I can see why she thought I'd like it (which I did)! It tells the story of three young children who all have a supernatural power of some kind...and their dog. Two of the three are based on real historical figures (most notably Joan of Arc) and it's an interesting exploration of the beliefs and prejudices of the medieval world through an adventure story with winning characters and an engaging plot. Was it a total home run for me? No, I'm nearing 40 and this is absolutely a book for younger readers. I want a richer and more thematically complex read. But it was very cute and fun!
