Note: I listened to the audiobook version narrated by the author.
Before listening to this book, I knew little about Mindy Kaling. I knew she was in The Office, and had her own show called The Mindy Project. I knew her first book was a hit and that I should read it. This book became available first.
I loved it! I loved Mindy's honesty. Sharing her insecurities, sharing her experiences, sharing her life. It was refreshing. She doesn't ramble about how tough life was. She's confident and keeps moving forward. She has her meltdowns, and her little random, inappropriate thought tangents, and those are what add to her charm. A few times I thought the topics came out of nowhere. That was a little confusing, but I still loved this and am excited to read/listen to her first book.
She also does a great job narrating. I've listened to a number of celebrity audiobooks, and hers is one of the most sincere ones I've listened to (thus far).
