I would highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with chronic illness, physical or mental. I personally benefitted a lot because although my illness is not as seriously as CF like the authors, it was great to read and learn alongside her how our flesh and our hearts may fail, but God is our portion, in the context of walking through respiratory illnesses. So, if you're in that boat as well, this is an even more applicable read! (Though the author makes it clear this book is for everyone!).

What is a Girl Worth? is the book we all desperately needed that should have never been necessary. Rachael gracefully & fiercely tells her story of seeking justice against her abuser, and helping other victims have their voice heard. She is clear and specific in the ways that assault should best be handled, and what is unhelpful. It is my opinion everyone, especially in leadership or close to a survivor, should read this book. The Church, specifically, should read this book.

I loved reading this book. My Dear Hamilton both provided continued insight into American history, though some small liberties were taken, with the vulnerability and intimacy of what it takes to sacrifice for love and mercy. Although the authors acknowledge the assumptions they had to make with there being so little documented about Eliza, it seems they truly sought to capture her heart.

This book was engaging and informative! The author gave a well rounded view of who Jefferson was, both the politician and the individual. I loved getting to know his personhood more, see his grief, and picture him as a loving grandfather. Although I understood greater how different I am from him ideologically, I grew in my appreciation of his impact on American politics and government.

I struggled with a love hate relationship with this book. I loved the story line and enjoyed how much I felt like I was learning about Washington and the dynamics of build up to and fight of the Revolutionary War. Having said that, there were a lot of times it felt slow, like there wasn't as much going on to justify how long the book was. But maybe that's the point? That conspiring to overthrow a leader is part of the slow game? Either way, I'm glad I read this one, but it's not one l come to again.

I learned so much reading this book. It's an incredible guide on how to appropriately talk about rape, rape culture, and how to support victims, individually and communally. The stories and guidance that follow give examples about how rape culture is fostered, and how to change our language around rape as to be supportive and not blame the victim. I highly recommend this book, whether or not you or someone you know has been assaulted.

This book was deeply encouraging and heart wrenching. I really liked Joe Biden before, but now I've fallen in love with him & his family. It is an honest, vulnerable look at a family walking through tragedy, and seeking hope in the midst of it. I didn't feel like I was reading about the former Vice President. I felt as though I was reading and living life with a family like mine. I highly recommend anyone read this book!

As white people, we need to continually check and be educated on our privilege and prejudice, in order to become a better ally. This book does just that. Diving into Stars story grew my understanding of the realities that minorities & brown people face, and helped me grow in my empathy and desire to be more of an ally. I found myself so absorbed into this story, that I had to remind myself this is fiction, and I cannot read news articles about Khalil's death. It's sobering and empowering all at once, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to read (listen) to this book.

This book is captivating and weird and incredibly entertaining. I found myself asking “wait. What's happening?” so many times. I enjoyed the detail that went in to developing each character, and the three viewpoints you get to enjoy through the book. I'm still confused by so many events, but so glad I read this!

As someone who had a trach, and was treated at Cincinnati Childrens and on the Complex Airway Unit, I couldn't help but have a special place in my heart for this story. But it's more than just a story about a family. It challenges our view of our youth. It challenges our view of right and wrong. It challenges. And I'm grateful for that. If I were a teacher, I'd make it a part of my curriculum. Because I'm not, I'm planning to just do my best to make all of my friends read it instead.

I stumbled upon this audiobook on Hoopla and I'm so glad I did. Lecrae Moore's transparency in sharing his life and testimony shows the paradox between the hardship and freedom that comes with following Jesus. With humility that points to Jesus and makes you want to strive to reflect it as well, Lecrae demonstrates the importance of honest reflection of ourselves and continual need to look to Jesus.

This book is both a fun & empowering journey through Ruth Bader Ginsburg's life. It was a joy to learn more about the woman that has become such an icon, and that I myself have grown to admire. Her conviction and love are represented so well here. I highly recommend anyone pick this book up & read about the Notorious RBG; you definitely will not regret it!

I'll be honest, this book is incredibly confusing and I wasn't sure what was happening a majority of the time, but that's what made me love it so much! Jenny writes in stream of consciousness a majority of the time, and it makes you feel like you are getting to know her all the more. She's funny, entertaining, and an incredible advocate for mental health. I encourage everyone to read (or ideally listen) to this book! I know I will be again.

This book! Every woman and every little girl should own and read it. Really, every person should. Rachael Denhollander so clearly and beautifully captures the worth of every girl, no matter her age. The illustrations are wonderful, highlighting the text and exemplifying the beauty of diversity. The book shares why little girls have worth, where it comes from, what it means for her, and why we can and want to lift this worth up and advocate for its visibility. Rachael highlights the need to be a voice to and for girls, and so powerfully incorporates the love of Christ throughout. The language is so simple and easily understood by children, while still conveying a beautiful message. I'm in tears writing this review thinking about it. I've already preordered several copies because I want to guarantee each of my friends and their daughters hear these words.

Kathy Keller does a great job encouraging the reader to challenge his or her apprehensions towards complementarianism and uses biblical backing for why we can ultimately trust in God's design, not as an oppressor but as a good God who equips and qualifies and leads.

I initially read this book because of my love for Jesus. I immediately grew in my understanding of who God is and the incredibly depth of his love for me. I appreciate how rather than a chronological story of Rich's life the book walks through his theology, ideology, and his intimate understanding of how the father is enthralled by him. I'm planning to read this over and over, and would recommend others do the same!
