Why this book?
Jurassic Park was my favorite movie the year it came out. I was a 10-year old boy who loved dinosaurs - of course I loved it! The pseudoscience of it all got me even more interested in science and what was possible.

Why this book?
When I read The Princess Bride I was very confused. After reading more I'm glad to learn I'm not alone. It's difficult to come up with something so original that it feels organic, but somehow both the book and the movie both do.

Why this book?
When the movie came out I watched it completely blind. It was one of the first times I'd seen anti-capitalism as a subject. Later on I decided to read the book only to find it's very short. While I absolutely love the movie, the book wasn't my favorite.

Why this book?
My favorite movie in the Harry Potter series. It manages to make the shift between kids movies and teen movies without missing a beat. Although some of the later movies are more epic, this one felt like it opened up the world in new ways while paving the road for the more serious tone needed for the remaining books.

Why this book?
Watching all three Lord of the Rings movies at midnight on release day was one of the most memorable movie experiences of my lifetime. It's hard to explain how epic it felt seeing middle earth in all it's glory, with every character having their time to shine. I'm still in awe that this movie got made. I rewatch it every Christmas!
