Audiobook version. This was incredible. Scary as all heck. I'll never look at a clown without suspicion again.
Very meh. Scarpetta is giving “not like other girls” energy. The ending was so abrupt I was sure my kindle was glitching. No more Scarpetta for me. Also Wesley is pathetic.
Loved it! Wonderful story with great narration from all the characters. I have read some people liken it To Kill A Mockingbird and I can understand why. Read it!
Audiobooked this while knitting a hat. Kept waiting for something to happen. The last quarter of the book was better. Bummer, I thought it would be a series I'd like.
Not for me. I'm on Team Tree but this book is too bloated and overwrought. I rolled my eyes too many times to count.
Who knew there was so much to learn about cadavers? A funny book about a macabre subject, but so well written. I was up late reading about cadaver heads used for training plastic surgeons!
It is a special book (just as the book jacket suggests). I found the chapters told from Little Bee's point of view to be my favorite. The underlying conflict is revealed slowly, but is devastating.
Sad. Depressing. Eye opening. Accurate? I don't know. But it helped me think about things and as a result I've had some very good conversations with my husband and kids.
Such a great book. The “letters” make it such an easy read and it was eye-opening to learn about the occupation on this island. And the characters are all too wonderful and quirky.
Wow. I finally finished it. This book was long, but very interesting. The history of China covered spans from the cultural revolution, through tiananmen square and up to the preparations for the beijing olympics. I learned so much and felt like I had finally had my eyes opened to the atrocities the chinese people have endured. I think the book could have been more heavily edited with respect to the details of the hunger strike. The book was dense, but I'm glad I finished it (even though our book club meeting had already happened). The final 100 pages were great and really made the whole experience worth while.
I loved this book and am dying for the sequel. Vampires, post-apocolyptic United States, supernatural powers, girls saving the world – too much good stuff all wrapped up in one book.
A compelling read, full of history of the Mormon church and the fundamentalist/polygamist splinter that exists today. It was hard to put down!
Great book. Trask and I listened to the audio version on our drive to LA and it was funny and touching. This strikes me as one of the early books taking a frank look at the effects of hunting on wildlife and also exposing the government's sanction of it.
Wow. I totally forgot I read this book until I saw the goodreads ad for the paperback version. I think I blocked it out because it was actually very disturbing and I have a friend who is a real estate agent.
I really enjoyed the second installment. In the end, I liked it more than the first, but I am hesitant to read the third. I don't want to ruin it.
