Lots of quick and easy spells for all kinds of needs, most having to do with self-care. I'll definitely be copying some of these into my book of shadows for future use.
Student/Teacher is my #1 romance trope so this hit aaaaalll my bases. The added bonus of BDSM and all characters being adults just made it even more chef's kiss.
Second-chance romances are usually not my cup of tea, but this is by Katee Robert and I've never hated anything she wrote. I liked the dynamic between Ridley and Garrett, but their issues near the end almost killed it for me.
What a great way to end this series! I'm so glad Chasity got her HEA, even if it was a little predictable.
Fair Game was such a fun read! A little bit enemies-to-lovers and set in college. The only downsides were Jade's wishy-washiness and I didn't care much for the narrator's voices in the audiobook, but that's easy enough to look past. 3/5 for spice.
I picked up this audiobook because it is narrated by Rebecca Soler and she is one of my favorites. When I saw that it was about a ship full of female rebel pirates, I was all in. I enjoyed this book, but it was kind of predictable.
This is the first MFF romance I've read and let me tell ya, I NEED MORE LIKE IT. My bisexual heart belongs to Monroe. She was definitely my fav character. Sassy and sexy, just the way I like my women!
I love me a good sex club series! Owned by Fate is different though because instead of the FMC being interested in the lifestyle, Caroline is a journalist, looking to critique the club and its owner, Jonah. Wonderful writing by Tessa Bailey, I really enjoyed the audiobook!
OOOOH Little sister's best friend trope! One of my faves. Loved the chemistry between Eliza and Oliver, but the keeping secrets/miscommunication annoyed me.
Heir was like 90% sex and 10% plot... But I am not complaining. Katee Robert is a master of the sex scene. Loved the character development in this installment, and it ended on a cliffhanger so I immediately started Queen. 5/5 for spice.
I've been looking forward to reading this book since finding Mariel's Instagram. I enjoyed it. I liked the story, but they world building felt a bit clumsy, and I was confused for a good portion of the book. I had to continually reference the index at the beginning of the book for translations which would sometimes take me out of the story. Also that cliffhanger is killing me!
Thank you to Goodreads and the publisher for a free copy via goodreads giveaway! I enjoyed this book! There were a few little issues I had, but overall, it was a fun read. The cover... gorgeous. The pace... a little slow in the beginning but picks up about 100 pages in. I wasn't sure how I felt about the story until the pace picked up, then I really started to enjoy it, and I'm glad I kept reading. I had to google so many terms because I was unfamiliar with Persian folklore, but after a while I got the hang of it. Soraya got a little annoying at times, but she's a teenager right? All teenagers get a little annoying. Her wishy-washy-ness between being a helpless, forgotten princess and a strong, poisonous woman gave me a bit of whiplash. I do love that (SPOILER AHEAD) Soraya ended up with Parvaneh in the end
I think I'm in the minority when it comes to this book. Maybe it's because I'm an adult woman reading this instead of a teen girl, or because I listened to the audiobook, but this book just didn't do it for me.
1. It was predictable af.
2. Lara Jean's use of “mommy” and “daddy” creeped me out. She's 17 ffs, grow up.
3. The whole “fake date to get back at your ex/lost love” trope doesn't interest me at all. Jealousy and spite aren't cute.
I won't be continuing this series.
3.5 stars. If insta-love isn't your thing, this one won't be for you. That being said, it was real cute and I'm interested in reading the others in this series.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I wasn't expecting the twist near the end. However, I wish there was more magic in this story! The Swan sisters were killed for being witches... but they weren't actually witches. Other than the curse of them returning every year, there was no magic. Slightly disappointed, but overall, I liked the story.
I had such high hopes for this book. I freaking LOVED Red Queen. But Glass Sword was so freaking slow!!! It took me two freaking months to get through it! All of the important parts felt really anticlimactic. Mare annoyed me to no end. Make up your damn mind, girl! Glad to be done with this thing. Ugh.
This is BY FAR my favorite book of Stephenie Meyer's. It didn't even feel like it was written by the same person who wrote Twilight. I loved the originality of this book. My favorite part is the relationships between Wanda and the other characters, from how distant and cold, to when they grew to love her and accept her. I havent read a book this large in a long time, either, and it was not hard to finish. If Stephenie Meyer wrote more books like this, I'd definitely read them.
I've always wanted to read this book. And now that I have... I'm glad I never have to read it again. It was fine... but dear lord it was just a thinly veiled retelling of the New Testament
