This book introduced me to the sort of wholesome light fantasy litrpg/harem fantasy genres that I'm a sucker for today.

II discovered this web series in university. It was both fun, and got me exploring sex, religion, and the format of the novel in new ways.

Why this book?
When I discovered Heinlein as a teenager, it started my intolerable atheist libertarian phase. Thankfully, I eventually got better.
Why this book?
This was the first soft fantasy book I ever read. I got it on tape from the CNIB when I was, like, 11, and loved it. It would take me several more years to get any of his other books. While I've outgrown the series now, I still remember those magical nights reading xanth.
