Bello, anche se vorrei poterlo giudicare nella sua interezza. Questa è solo la prima parte della storia, sette capitoli per la precisione,e sarebbe giusto e anche doveroso poterlo valutare ad opera completa.
Mi ha subito ricordato la serie degli angeli della Killough-Walden, ma questa storia è venuta decisamente meglio ;)
e ora, devo sapere..devo sapere come va avantiii! U_U

Non sapendo da dove iniziare, parto col dire qual è l'unica cosa che mi è piaciuta di questo libro: parte del world-building, ovvero la presenza di svariate razze di demoni e dei loro peculiari poteri, l'Aegis (che li caccia) e Eidolon, in parte (alias, il suo carattere).
Basta, finito qui. Credo che quello che ho apprezzato sia troppo poco per dare due stelle a questo libro.
Quello che non mi è piaciuto:
- troppo sesso. Dopotutto doveva essere un romance, non un porno. Nella prima parte c'è una scena di sesso ogni 30 pagine, alias i protagonisti si vedono e a lui viene un'erezione e lei ha voglia di fare sesso. E ‘sti qua nemmeno si conoscono. I poteri dei demoni che potevano essere ‘qualsiasi-super-potere-immaginablie' hanno a che fare col sesso. EBBASTA! Siate un po' seri, cattivi! Siete demoni e non porno-star u.u
- Tayla: l'ho odiata dall'inizio alla fine. Pazza e irascibile: cambia idea una pagina si e una no. Passa dal voler farsi Eidolon al volerlo ammazzare. Il tutto con delle spiegazioni poco valide.
- La trama molto scarna. Quasi Tutto ruota attorno all'amore-odio fra i due protagonisti e alla caratterizzazione dei protagonisti.
Si salvano i colpi di scena che non posso spoilerare.

E' un vero peccato. i suoi libri dei Lords of Deliverance li ho amati, nonostante il genere fosse quello che fosse. Se riuscissi a trovare delle riassunti dei libri successivi, sarebbe una vera manna, altrimenti li dovrò leggere in fretta in furia per sapere com'è riuscita a collegare la serie Demonica con i LOD.

This one has its ups and downs. During its ups the story is enjoyable, during its downs it is full of the PNR clichés (predestinated mate, the need of protection of that mate and so on).
I bought it months ago and, even though I can't stand the PNR genre anymore, I'd like to read it before selling/donating it.

[Buddy-read with Giovanna and Sibil]

I liked the content of this book: the plot, the characters, the setting,... everything, but the writing. It was far too descriptive, imo, and somehow deprived me of the pleasure of reading, making the narration slow and boring. I found myself skipping the lines looking for dialogues or interesting events, because overall I didn't enjoy it very much. I think this is in part due to the fact that the narrator was telling his memories and not actually taking part in the events. But I must confess that the situation got better through the second part.
Two nice persons gave me the power to go on and they were Giovanna and Sibil, and also Lys. I know that she has been looking after us from afar :D
I would have thrown the book out the window without you.
I just hope that Hobb's recent books aren't so descriptive/boring. In any case, I'm sure I will read the next installment to follow Fitz'story, but not in the immediate future.

I loved Sabine and Rydstrom: their characterisation, their relationship and so on.
My only complaint with this book and with the whole is that there is too much sex, especially in the first part of this book. Please, dear Kresley, can't you just give more space to the plot, the setting and the characterisation? You created a very good lore and lovely characters..do you need to put so much erotic scenes in your books? That's bad. I find it annoying when events revolve around sex for 100+ pages and it looks like a sort of filler for the lacking of better ideas.
Overall I liked the book. The second part was so better, fortunately!
I hope the series will get better and will focus more on the wide cast of characters than sex.

non do un voto massimo solo perche la storia d'amore tra Phury e Cormia non mi ha entusiasmato molto, per colpa del fratello. Cormia, a mia sorpresa, mi ha fatto molta tenerezza. Mi sono piaciute le storie collaterali che hanno reso la situazione generale (guerra contro i lesser, l'Omega, le Elette ecc..) molto molto interessante :)
