What are some books/essays about contemporary reading culture?Answer

Was a bit disappointed when I learned (from reviews) that How to Read Now by Elaine Castillo mostly engages with modern reading culture through mainstream popular fiction and, like, BookTok. I'm hoping to find something that gets a bit closer to the heart of the matter, and perhaps more nonfictiony. So far it seems that The Great Derangement by Amitav Ghosh seems to be closest, but not perfect. It's still on hold for me though. So can you think of anything else in this vein?
