Not my cup of tea. Lots of focus on the romantic attraction but with a guy who we know hardly anything about. In this case, “short novel” translates to “heavy on physical attraction and deficient in backstory” and that's not the sort of story that speaks to me much at all.

Then there were the hackneyed tropes of calling God “the man upstairs” and a girl thinking her purity symbol is messed up or that her hopes of marriage are gone because a guy tried or succeeded in raping her (that's how vague the details are...we don't even know how far he got).
