Having a veterinarian as a lead was a fun part of the story, and I also enjoyed how the narration for the audiobook featured a man and a woman to match the parts by the two leads.

I had a harder time connecting with the leads than I did in the other books of the series; I've always had a hard time with the “player” trope, and Callie seemed to be utterly unconcerned about the people around her. So while the romance is really sweet and all the incidents along the way are fun to read, I didn't get super emotionally wrapped up in the characters because I found Callie to be rather unlikable/unrelatable.

Otherwise it's a really sweet and unique love story and I was invested in how these two leads were going to make things work out.
