Alex & Eliza

My only real beef with this book is the lack of an author's note; when it comes to historical fiction, an explanation of which bits were made up and what sources the author used is essential and neglecting this is unforgivable, as far as I'm concerned. The novel itself is a fluffy, easy-to-read tale.
