All Men Are Enemies is an impressive mixture of romance, philosophy, social critique, politics and history, all from the perspective of an visionary adolescent.

Reading it with the assumption of it being just another romance, it has impressed me greatly with the allusions to classical literature, religion and political ideas and its somewhat easy-to-read but not quite simple style. The deep conflict between doing what is expected and normal and doing what one loves to do is expressed vividly and captivatingly.

A page turner which leaves the reader with a different, slightly depressing but encouraging view on his own future.
