Really strong novel-in-verse about a dissolution of a friendship and a teen girl coming into her own self of positive self-worth and independence. Explores themes of gender experience (the main character can't say what the boys say on the basketball court, for example), colorism, featurism, body-image, consent, and self-value. This felt very authentic and so many teen readers will connect to this. Will definitely be booktalking.
