(I'm writing this review in the car, so just ignore any spelling/grammar mistakes :) Thank you!)
I'm a bit torn. I adored the writing itself. James Patterson is a very good author, and I'll definitely read more of his works. I didn't like the book much at first. It was extremely slow and bland for the first 100 pages.
After that point, it began to pick up and all of the scandals came out... Need I say more?
I found the characters difficult to relate to, but I think that was part of the point. I wish we'd known a bit more about Tandy, however I understand why we didn't.
One part stood out to me a lot in the very beginning of the novel. Patterson literally took the time to explain that Tandy was an unreliable narrator in what I found to be a very patronizing way.
I think if you're reading a murder mystery such as this one, you would be familiar with the term unreliable narrator, thank you very much.
The ending was nice and had a wonderful closure. I might read the next one, maybe not. I'm still not sure yet.
