Cristina of Old New York

This was written mostly for children of the day, but I will freely admit that a middle grade novel for children of 1939 is quite satisfying enough for me now. It's a great example of historical fiction, and Cristina is a delightful teen girl in a Dutch home in New Netherland. Nearly any age will enjoy this story of old-fashioned family life.
