This was a complicated book for me to read. On one hand, I've never experienced a lot of the things she did. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs. I have a raging caffeine addiction; that is the extent of my vices. On the other, and it's difficult for me to say this in a public forum, I struggle with impostor syndrome, I'm insecure in speaking to people and speaking my mind, I have a need for recognition, and I have periods of anxiety. I see a lot of this in her, and her struggle with it coupled with her other demons really struck a chord with me. She is a talented writer, and the candid way she talks about her problems takes great strength. This is a book I'm glad I read, and I'm going to pass it on to a friend of mine who may need it more than I did.
