More excitement from the world of Elric and company. This time it is three tales/adventures. I really enjoyed that after each adventure, Elric cannot remember what happened, so he can run into the same people over and over again and not recognize them (there is a real Doctor Who moment in which a character Elric has not yet met remembers Elric from a bloody battle that they fought together). One does question whether or not he is learning anything that way....So we have the appearance of another female (there are so few in this manly world) and she is....wait for it....a damsel in distress. As always what I enjoy the most are the cool settings and the crazy characters that pop in and out. I do wish we could have spent more time with the blind captain. He was cool. I think the image of the horse stalking the crazy King will stick with me for a long time too, that was rather awesome. There is much foreshadowing of what is to come for our crimson-eyed friend. Also, I propose a drinking game in which we all read the book and whenever Moorcock mentions Elric's eyes are ruby, crimson, or any shade of red we take a drink!
