This teetered at a 3 but ultimately I can't give it 3 stars. The idea is certainly cute, I love fairy tales and the idea of saving small towns. However, there were a lot of issues that made this particular book not a fun read. And this should've definitely been a fun read.

First, the writing felt very juvenile. It did not feel like being in an adults head. The For the record, I also DNFd “In a Holidaze” for this very same reason so if you liked that then maybe you won't be as bothered by this as I was.

The plotlines were too many for such a short book and they moved very fast. It made it not only hard to follow but also hard to care because so much was just skated over. I wish this book just took more time with each of the plot points or thinned out some of them. Similarly, the balance between the plot and the fantasy element felt...extremely off. When they intermingled together and we finally saw the connection that was interesting but then we took a pause for the romantic drama. The pause felt way too long and by the time we got back to the fantasy aspect I ended up just skimming until the end because I just could not keep up with all of the changes. Overall I will not be continuing with this series.
