Fifteen Minutes is a splendid novel by New York Times Bestselling Author Karen Kingsbury. This novel tells the story of Zack and Reese and the “cost” of fame. This novel has a great story line that is very relevant to today's society. Many shows that help musicians get famous such as American Idol and The Voice make the life of a celebrity seem wonderful and very inviting. What I feel Karen Kingsbury does well is show the side of fame that is not seen on camera.
When reading the book I felt that their was a lot of suspense which really propelled the story until the very end. The suspense was not only seen through the main plot, but also within the multiple subplots. I really enjoyed this novel in the fact that it has truly changed me in that I have seen into a very small window of what celebrities go through. Sometimes, I think America idolizes celebrities and we think that life for them is this wonderful spiral of great events. In reality though the life of a celebrity has many ups and downs from going to parties to maybe feeling alone.
The main message in the novel, I feel is that no matter what happens in life God is always their to pick you up and restore you as new. Believing in Jesus Christ can change anyone's life, even your's. No matter where you have come from or what you have done Jesus Christ can make you white as snow and “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:11-12). These two verses show that no matter what you have done you are loved. God loves you so much that He sent His son Jesus Christ down to earth to save you and nothing in this world can separate you from His love. Believing in God is the greatest thing that can ever happen in your life!
