Cheesy? Yes but in a good way.
This felt so angsty, and I don't know if it even was? Or just my repressed high school feelings coming to light.
This is kind of a second chance romance, business partners to lovers.
Mauro and Maddie went to the same high school, but different circles. Now they both are bidding on the same house to flip. They decide to partner up, and do it 50/50 split.
Maddie had a crush on the football star senior, so being in close proximity to Mauro again brings up old feelings. She is clear she doesn't want to cross the professional line, but he's so kind and charming he becomes irresistible. He wants her all the same and regrets not knowing her all those years ago.
Maddie definitely wore her insecurities on her sleeve, but Mauro never really gave up on showing her he loved her no matter what.
I enjoyed this, it had a good amount of drama without being over the top. And the angst and spice was done well.
