Before I tell you how much I enjoyed this book I would like to thank Amanda Hocking and St Martin's Press for my advanced copy of Freeks. I have to be honest I have read a few of Ms. Hocking books and enjoyed them very much. This was not a far departure from her wheelhouse and it was very well written. I have a slight addiction to Roxie even though she is a minor character in this book I adored her spunk. Freeks was a unique and intriguing novel and like I said the sideshow theme fits well with the stories you would expect from the author. Her character description of both the acts in the show and the description of the city is spot on. It is a suspenseful spooky tale that you could really read in one sitting if you had the time. I loved Mara's relationship with her mom and I loved Gideon and Gabe and how they tried to do right by the women they loved. All and all you won't want to stop reading this until you find out who or what is turning the lives of these characters upside down.
