I read this on the train home from Book Expo 2016 in Chicago and it was so very good. I didn't love it as MUCH as I loved Smile, but I think it's simply a case of I read Smile first. In Ghosts, we are with Cat and Maya who are getting used to a big move the family had to make in order to make life easier for Maya who suffers from cystic fibrosis. As usual, Telgemeier uses the form to explore multiple topics but my heart was with Cat the whole time. Cat just wants to be a really great big sister, and she is.

Also explored in this story is dia de los muertos and I am so very excited because I have been searching for years for some great fiction to use at the library with readers to explore this holiday (and to correct the many, many misconceptions about it).
