How to Save a Life

Hmmm...this one is a bit hard for me to rate. There were parts that I absolutely adored. That made me bawl like a baby. The writing was excellent, and it was well paced. It had an excellent cast of likable secondary and primary characters. BUT there were parts that turned me off and made the book feel weird. The fact that Sammy was neutered and all the pages devoted to that issue lowered my rating. And to be honest, I can't even tell you why. I just didn't care for that storyline. On top of that, I literally CRINGED every time our hero uttered the words “bruh” and “bae.” Probably wasn't helped by the fact that “BAE” actually translates into “SHIT” in Danish. No...just no. lol

So ya, a bit of a mixed bag for this reviewer.
