I Go Quiet

This book perfectly captures the emotions of being an introvert in our world. Our protagonist lives in a dark and smoky world, filled with many people, and she finds it difficult to speak up. Instead she retreats into her own spaces, and finds ways to connect with the world through books. She has big hopes for the future that she will one day be able to share her thoughts with the world.

The emotional tone of this book was so powerful I had to go read it with my husband to see what he thought about it. I am not an introvert, and yet with all the turbulence of today, I find myself feeling like the main character of this picture book, alone in a dark and disturbing world, masked, unable to voice my thoughts and feelings.
