I've somehow never heard about this small series
by Monica Furlong; it deserves more readers. Juniper is the only
child of the king. She begins to train with Euny, her godmother, a
rigid and unfeeling woman, and slowly, with Euny's help, learns about
the true nature of power and about the truly important things in the
world.
