An absolutely superb read, you could mistake it as a fictional thriller. The book starts with Patrick Magee, the man eventually convicted for the Brighton bombing, and how he became the IRA's main bomber in the UK. The next stage is the police forces of the UK and how they finally got their man and the dedication they showed to do that, especially when everything had to be done by hand (no DNA or computers in those days). The book doesn't try to glorify what happened that day. It does go into the horror that day and how it not just impacted on the victims and their families but how it changed Thatcher herself and her view of the world. Outstanding read.
