Long Shot

I got 2 and a half hours into this 13-hour audiobook. The narration is just fine, if that's your thing.

There are trigger warnings all over this thing, so that's not a surprise if you check the reviews (emotional abuse, partner abuse, rape). I was prepared to go into that, though I'm not crazy about those things showing up in a romance novel, where I expect lightness and fun and misunderstandings, not women being abused.

I personally can deal through those warnings and be okay, even if I'm glad to know about them in advance, but my own trigger doesn't often show up in content warnings, and that's pregnancy problems and pregnancy loss. Heroine Iris finds out she's pregnant by her controlling basketball-player boyfriend, and is concerned that she's miscarrying near the end of the first trimester because of heavy bleeding, and the doctor puts her on full bed rest/pelvic rest. And that's when I knew I was done with this. I just can't do it right now.
