To the potentially new reader,
You will more than likely read the reviews to decide whether to buy this book or not. Keep an open mind and ask yourself this one question...

In your eyes, what makes the fictional characters heroes/heroines?

If your idea of a hero/heroine is one who shows no fear, doubt, lack of trust in others or themselves, then this story might not be for you.

Even the best of people will tell lies whether by omission or letting someone believe something else. That doesn't make them bad or weak or snivelling.

I bought this book out of spite of one particular review and found I enjoyed the book. It made me wonder if that reviewer and I had read the same book. Yes, I know everyone has their own opinion but limiting heroes/heroines by that will always spoil one's view of the character/s and the story.

I kept an open mind in regards to the two main characters and wondered if I would or wouldn't have done the same in regards to each other. As a result, they appeared more real to me than the typical gung-ho type of heros that are prevalent in fiction today. It lets me believe that even an ordinary person can come out on top in a tough situation.

I look forward to the next as it it the reason why I ultimately read this book.
