Pardon my illness that has made this review a day later than I meant for it to be. But this is a fabulous book. I already know that I love Laura Frantz as an author and I know that the first book in the Ballantyne Legacy is fabulous in [b:Love's Reckoning 13115556 Love's Reckoning (The Ballantyne Legacy, #1) Laura Frantz http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1333242124s/13115556.jpg 18289542]. This second generation story in [b:Love's Awakening 16109328 Love's Awakening (The Ballantyne Legacy, #2) Laura Frantz http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1361987285s/16109328.jpg 21923481] is another great addition to my shelf and the series. This time taking place in the US Antebellum period we have a very marriageable belle to follow along in tale as well as the local family feud bad boy. There is a whole host of other characters that matter and watching them all grow in themselves is entertaining and full of interest. In this book there is also a great deal of deal on the Underground Railroad and events that take place which brings out a pile of history. I'm not sure if I enjoyed this more that Love's Reckoning or the Colonel's Lady, but I truly enjoyed the read and every turned page. Laura continues to be a favorite and I'm truly intrigued to continue the story in the third volume of The Ballantyne Legacy when it is to come.
