Madame Croissant lived a quiet life with her well-mannered dog, Mister Dash, working in her gift shop, and admiring her stamp collection. Until Sunday. On Sunday, Madame Croissant's energetic granddaughter, Daphne, came to visit. Mister Dash resisted Daphne's efforts to play with him and silently scoffed at Daphne. Then Daphne went careening down a hill in her wagon and it was up to Mister Dash to save her.
“'Help! I can't stop!' Daphne cried out.
Mister Dash was halfway home when he heard the screams. What's this? Is Daphne in trouble?
Mister Dash left his good manners at the top of the hill. He put his Lab legs to good use and ran like a greyhound.”
