3.5 stars, rounded up for the strong Christian message concerning what forgiveness means.
I liked both Cassie and Rick, though there were moments where the characters' motivations weren't entirely clear. It also wasn't exactly plausible with what happened when the flu came to town...“oh, he can go be around those people; he had the shot” sort of thinking made it sound like the shot was a fail-safe method, and not having the shot was like dealing with instant scarlet fever or something. Other similar little generalizations got on my nerves a trifle—but the message was quite deep and brought my enjoyment level back up.
