I've come to judge James Pattersons' books (as far as the NYPD Red series goes) before reading them. I knew the writing would be...different from other authors'. How should I describe it? I guess I would call it really cut-and-dry. The characters seem to keep talking in clipped sentences, though maybe that was a point since the main characters are cops. However, the civilians spoke in clipped sentences too. I guess it was just too...clinical. I didn't get many feels from this book. :/
And then...there's Zach. I'm trying not to spoil anything, but I guess I've got to say that he's pretty much a dick. His indecision between Cheryl and Kylie is frustrating and gives a bad name to men. Kylie wasn't completely innocent either, the way she put the vibes out. All around annoying. GET OVER EACH OTHER. GET BETTER PERSONALITIES-maybe then you'll get better and more dating options.
