Orchids and Lies

When I read the synopsis I was drawn in. I love mysteries and this is the perfect time of year for them. I was not aware, nor is this advertised, that this is part of a series. This can be read standalone, however there are parts that don't make complete sense like the relationship between the main character and her “friend”.

Regardless, while this was an interesting story and I enjoyed the setting, it is a slow read. Nothing extremely exciting or thrilling happens that makes you want to keep turning the page.
