When I was asked if I wanted to read this book, I said yes after reading the synopsis because it sounded good, I'm very pleased to say that the book lived up to the hype, it's a lovely story. The chapters are short and sweet, which personally I like, when I needed to stop, I could finish a chapter, go feed the family and then dive right back in again.  I understand this is Sharon Kay's first book in the contemporary romance genre and I hope it isn't her last. I loved it.

Cruz Zaffino has just been released from wrongful imprisonment after 10 years and wants to start fresh, he moves to a small country town where he meets Rosie Marlow, a happy go lucky bartender with a secret. Will they survive Rosie's secret, will Cruz's past come back to haunt him? Join this flawed and sweet couple as they get to know one another and watch their relationship bloom.

Plot.
I simply loved how Sharon Kay wrote this book. It's not what I expected, a guy that's been wrongfully imprisoned for 10 years, sheesh, I expected him to have a lot of anger and be a jerk, to begin with, but he just wasn't, it was a nice surprise. Don't worry if straight up romance isn't your thing, it's not all hearts and flowers, we get to experience Cruz being a badass more than once and the last few chapters are suspenseful, to say the least.

Characters.
Cruz was a fantastic character, I loved the tough guy he was and that he could be so sweet with Rosie. I liked when the tough guy came out, whether it was protecting Rosie or helping someone he didn't know, his heart was in the right place. The scene with Ariel and Iris was probably the cutest scene in the book, it melted my heart and really gave another side to his character.

I liked Rosie, she was a fun, warm character. At times she annoyed me, she went on a little too much about her secret, which I guessed pretty early on, but overall, she was a cool chick that I'd hang out with. I loved that she never doubted Cruz, she was always on his side.

I really liked Shane, at the end of the book it says the next one centres around him, and I'm super happy about that. He has a story to tell. I adored Denver, nothing better happen to him...that's all I'm saying! What I liked about Shane was that even though he was concerned and felt he needed to do ‘the big brother' thing, he didn't overdo it and took Cruz's back when other people made insinuations and I loved that, it was different and really made his character more appealing.

Relationship.
I loved the way the relationship progressed from the instant attraction to getting to know each other, and falling in love. It was lovely to follow their story and see it all play out. The way they supported each other and believed in one another. I loved that there wasn't a major conflict between them, they fell in love and made it work, even when each of them tried to push the other away, they stood firm. It was beautiful. Also, the sex scenes were steamy as heck and very well placed.
