What a ride! I really enjoyed the first book, but this one has surpassed all my expectations. Reviving Izabel starts where the first book ended, it has been eight months since Sarai escaped from captivity. She lives a normal” life now with Mrs. Gregory, her friend Dahlia and boyfriend Eric. But her new life is a big fat lie and she doesn't stop to yearn for dangerous life she could have lead with Victor instead, neither she can't stop thinking about killing Hamburg (I finally read his name normally, not like Hamburger :D). But deep inside herself she is aware that she is also doing it to attract Victor's attention.
Her mission failed, but not completely, because Victor came to hotel and rescued her from sure death. That was one of my favorite scenes in the book. I loved their passionate encounter. I was already going crazy waiting for him finally to show up.
“I–“
Victor grabs my face in both of his hands and shoves my body against the elevator wall, closing his lips fiercely over mine. His tongue tangles with my own, his mouth stealing my breath in a passionate kiss that is what ultimately makes my knees buckle.
Yeah, I was drooling over him through the entire book. I like how their relationship developed through the book, in the beginning they both were denying their feelings for each other, but in the end they finally admitted it. Sarai very cunningly made him confess that he loved her. She is a world-class manipulator and liar, but still I like her. She is fearless, determined and strong, but she lacks a discipline. She is also the only woman who was able to reach Victor's seemingly cold heart. Lucky bitch! And yes, I want to be in her place, obviously. That cold-blooded murderer is my new fictional boyfriend.
But I guess she can have him since she has passed all the tests and proved to be his match and ideal partner in crime.
Victor. What to say about Victor? I have always suspected he had a heart and I was right, but he had to turn off his feelings to become professional killer. I felt sorry for him, Vonnegut and the Order stole his childhood and falling in love was a luxury since he was leading a dangerous life. I was so glad he and Sarai found each other.
In this book we finally get to know Fredrik more. That one chapter that was written from his POV totally broke my heart. I'm dying for his book to come out and read his story. He was such a mystery to me. Some things were unraveled about his past and what made him that way, but I sense there is more to discover yet.
I would recommend this book to everyone who loves action, suspense and a bit of love story to spice the things a little. If you are a fan of Nikita, you'll definitely enjoy this book.
