DNF - PG 67
Why?
Shudders
I was worried enough about the rape undertones when Seti ordered Logan to do something and he complied in a manner - and thought process - that indicated that he did so without thinking. (Whether this was a case of actual mind control isn't dealt with in what I read, but it sounded that way to me.)
Then, Logan thinks he's having a sex dream - licking and touching going on. (Okay, I'm a little against that, anyway because it feels like it cheapens things, but, I was dealing with it.) But then:
The cobwebs of sleep slowly cleared, but the sensations of being touched and licked did not.His eyes flew open as he realized he wasn't alone in his bed, and that he hadn't really been dreaming.
Do I even need to go into the problems with this? I mean, really. (Non-consent at best, straight up rape at worst.)
(Which is kind of a shame because while the appreciation of Egyptology feels mostly absent and what little is there feels soulless, the author did get a lot of the details right.)
