I specifically read the Diana Gabaldon story “A Leaf on the Wind of all Hallows” because I had read everything in the series to date.
One: WOW DIANA GABALDON CAN ACTUALLY WRITE A SHORT STORY!! wow!!!
Two: What a nice way to learn about Roger's parents. This short story was the story of Jerry and Marjorie Mackenzie and it was told very nicely. Can't say too much without spoiling but basically we find out what really happened when Jerry went missing and we get to relive that terrifying day when Roger lost his mother and grandmother in the tunnel... turns out he lost much more.
Three: I REALLY DESPISE FRANK RANDALL... yeah he's in this one. If you recall, Claire tells Roger that Frank had worked with his dad and that he too traveled through the stones... READ FOR MORE DEETS...
Four: The four stars are for the WoWzza of a cliffhanger at the end of the book! WOW! Oh and let me tell you that cliffhanger and the ending left me pretty sad. I love Roger... Poor Roger...
I will probably read the rest of these stories but I would like to read the books that these stories are companions of. I will be sure to update this review once I get around to reading them. :-)
