I got this book for free a few years ago and decided to read it today. I liked the description and that's what sucked me in.
The Good: The plot was different. A math teacher being called to help solve the motive of a kid killing a family.
The Bad: The first 10 or 11 chapters were kind of dull. The characters felt very robotic with no feelings. Ian and Lacey's chemistry didn't exist at all. Ian is presented as a nerdy guy with no flaws. But I was able to find some. Why does he say things slowly to Lacey as if shes a child who doesn't understand? It comes off really condescending. Why does he make all the decisions? Why did he just move himself into her apartment? He came off as invasive.
Overall the author managed to keep me interested with the plot, but the characters were unrelatable and very one sided.
