The 18th emergency

I've never had someone threaten to beat me up. It, then, was a revelation to read this book. And, isn't Betsy Byars a master? I left the book feeling compassion for both our main character, nicknamed, unhappily, Mouse, and the bully, Hammerman. I saw both Mouse and Hammerman become bigger, better people. Fabulous.
