The Birdcage Library is a fascinating historical fiction mystery. The writing is great throughout, and what's not to like about a story that features old books, taxidermy, and exotic animals. There is some mixing into the story of real life characters and events, such as Barnums circus that gives a wonderful sense of time and place.
