A truly lovely way to spend a rainy Sunday.
Highlights of this particular Lady Hardcastle mystery:
Tiny Welsh maid with martial arts training wiping the floor with an anti-suffragist: chef's kiss.
The Cotham Road and Court Sampson Inn passages were deliciously mischievous.
Struck particularly in this volume the number of times you see women enjoying good food. Might just be a personal history thing, but it's still encouraging to read, and adds to the ‘cozy' of the cozy mystery.
The number of ‘creative alternatives' 😏 provided for the name The Men's/Women's League of Opposing Suffragists was delightful.
Finally meeting Mrs. Sunderland! Hope to see more of her in future books in the series.
Author's notes detailing historical tidbits and code breaking/cyphers.
