Book 3 complete for O.W.L.'s 2019 Charms - Adult WorkInitial Thoughts: So this book was a struggle at times. The premise is fascinating and gave me all these Alias vibes with this secret government organization that allows all these illegal activities. Alex was a fascinating character. She is definitely a product of the company, but she is also a scientist who is fascinating by her experiments and has unique talents. The writing was also as I have come to expect from Stephenie Meyer, but the romance in this one was a little too much for me. I do not think we needed the romance at all. This book would have been just as good if it was about a trio without two of them getting together. That being said it was still a good book, it just was not what I was expected so I did not enjoy it as much as I could have. I definitely should look into reading more thriller secret organization books (and yes I'm specifically thinking of [b:Ninth House 43263680 Ninth House (Alex Stern, #1) Leigh Bardugo https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1553102141s/43263680.jpg 53348200] that comes out soon!).
