LAYLA AND XCOR'S STORY WHOO~! I'm happy to have finally gotten to read that, considering everything that's happened since they first interacted. Also quite glad that certain other vampires are on their way to their own HEA - won't say who because spoilers but if you've been following the series so far you'll probably have a pretty good guess as to who I'm referring to ;D. What I'm not so happy about, though, is how Qhuinn was handled in this one. I mean, I was fond of him before, but now... Now I'm not so sure. I kind of think he didn't quite get what he deserved? Of course that could just be me being a vindictive bitch whose idea of vengeance has always been “Make ‘em suffer for the rest of their natural lives”, but ah well. We'll just have to wait and see.

Also: not sure I quite like what's happening in terms of deus ex machina. I really liked it when it was just the vamps trying to figure out their own place in the world, without any kind of assistance, but oh well. I just hope it's handled well in the subsequent books.
