I recently finished reading The Dark Fields (the inspiration for Limitless), and while I liked it, I didn't love it. The theme and plot were intriguing, especially the idea of unlocking limitless potential through a mysterious drug, but I felt like it could have been executed better. The pacing and tension worked, but some parts dragged on. The protagonist, Eddie, was fine but not particularly likable or compelling, and to be honest, none of the characters really stood out as lovable or memorable. They felt more like vehicles for the story rather than deeply developed personalities. What I did enjoy, though, was the method of storytelling—the way the narrative unfolded kept me hooked enough to finish it. The psychological aspects were fascinating, but overall, it left me wanting more depth and connection with the characters.
