i swear the softness of the MCs in this book, brought me back to Heartstopper, don't mind me 🥹

let's start with the characters, 'cause i'm sure i'm not the one that was quite conflicted to know we had a demon MMC, but he looked like the sweetest cinnamon roll in the planet in the cover of the book (which 10/10, i ADORE the cover) 🙈

Keamon and Melina are those people you know, that have a heart of gold and everything you wished didn't happen to them, ends up happening 🥹 my heart literally hurts thinking about how sweet and wholesome their relationship was in the book 😭

their pasts are a wreak, Keamon being captive and tortured for information and Melina being abused by her relatives, they kind of find a common ground for their friendship and later on relationship to grow on ❤️‍🩹

Keamon has the patience of a saint with Melina's trauma while also dealing with the conflicted thoughts his own trauma evokes, and although i thoroughly enjoyed how their relationship grew, the ending felt a bit rushed as i hoped for more of the backstory to filter through :s

i feel like i spent all book waiting for situations related to their backstories to happen but they never did quite as i would've liked them to, like, so many interesting details and characters were mentioned that i wished were delved into a little bit more so that even though we had the love story of the MCs first and foremost, we also had something else to keep us on out toes 🧐

overall, i feel like it's a good debut novel for Willow, her writing is immaculate and the spice was on point 🥵 and although i lacked that extra tidbit of fantasy, nothing kept me from reading about the 5⭐️ relationship the MCs had 💖

i want to thank Willow for the chance of reading her first baby early and i can't wait for Enid's story 👀 (i also you consider giving Silenus his own story, he was quite the character 😂🙈)
