Another pandemic has hit ten years after Covid and a group of friends hide out from it on their family island. It's a relevant idea that didn't quite make it for me. And that hurts me to say because I love Carol Goodman's books. Usually, her books are so atmospheric, I get lost in that world. Not this time.
Lucy does get caught up in the island's past, but I didn't think it made her crazy, like the book's blurb leads you to believe.
There was a duel mystery, but it didn't tie together. It was just two timelines.
The end was abrupt and didn't feel like a resolution. The story kept me engaged but wasn't satisfying.
